There’s nothing safe to eat anymore. Just disgusting the chemicals and drugs and hormones in the food we eat. Just garbage. Got to go organic.

Dangerous Hormones in our Diets

Detox, Hormone Diets, Hormones, Insulin Resistance Comments (2)

You’ve probably heard that steroid and growth hormones are to be found within our diets in North America.  This is true.  Growth hormone and six other hormones are permitted to be used by the FDA in the production of food in the United States.  Those hormones include synthetic estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, melengestrol acetate, trenbolone acetate and zeronol.  In Canada, steroid hormones are still allowed to be used in cattle, although growth hormone is not permitted.  The Europeans do not allow the use of hormones in animals.  When you were looking for information on diets that help to achieve optimum health and balance your hormones during times of menopause and andropause, you certainly don’t want to be ingesting some of these unhealthy foods which affect your hormone levels in negative ways.

The reason for these hormones in the foods that we eat is to stimulate the growth of cattle beef, pork, sheep, chickens, turkeys and ducks.  In the US, the use of the growth hormone known as rGBH (recombinant bovine growth hormone) is also permitted by the FDA.  Recombinant bovine growth hormone is not allowed in either Canada or Europe because of its effects on both animals and humans.  The FDA also approves the use of a drug called Roxarsone (3-Nitro) in chickens which contains arsenic.  Roxarsone has been linked to cancer in humans.

The use of these synthetic hormones added to the foods in our diet is a known factor to increasing cancer in both men and women.  The National Institute of Health and the National Toxicology Program have stated that excess estradiol, progesterone and testosterone are carcinogens when consumed in excess.  These hormones are found in our bodies in small quantities, but when added to our diets, they can cause breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men.  Early onset of puberty is also occurring with children and is becoming more and more common.

Bovine growth hormone in our diet produces the insulin like growth factor in cows’ milk.  Children naturally drink large quantities of milk.  High quantities of the insulin-like growth factor are also known the cause prostate and breast cancer.

Also, cows which are producing high quantities of milk end up with mastitis and their udders are treated with antibiotics.  These antibiotics end up in our milk which causes unhealthy bacterial balance in our GI tracts.  This is the reason that before you start any diet, you should begin with a detox diet to clear the toxins from your body – including your GI tract.  Also, have you ever wondered why so many infections cannot be cured by the regular dose of antibiotics?  It is because we are consuming antibiotics on a daily basis in our diets.

This is all very frightening news when we hear about hormones in our diets.  The daily ingestion of synthetic hormones antibiotics is good for us.  What can be done?  Besides moving to Europe where the food is healthier and not genetically modified (GM), all we can do is purchase organic meats and chicken which is free from chemicals and hormones.  We can also eat less of it because we now know that red meat definitely causes cancer.  Corporate farming in North America has increased the dangers of hormones in our diet.  If you are struggling with your hormone levels, insulin levels and the symptoms of either menopause or andropause, you want a healthy hormone diet to balance your hormones and help you achieve weight loss.  Knowing how unhealthy some of the products in your grocery store are, will guide you to making healthier and more intelligent decisions regarding your healthy hormone diet.
