Dr Oz Diet Tips for 2012

Popular TV host of the Dr Oz TV show, best selling author, leading cardiac surgeon, Dr. Mehmet Oz is followed for his sensible diet, health and exercise advice. He is the first to admit that the one main questions most people ask him about is advice on diet and how to lose weight. The following is a list of weight loss tips for 2012.

In this video, Dr Oz speaks on how waist size effects your health. Your waist measurement is the chief determining factor of your health. We all know that belly fat leads to health problems such as coronary disease, liver disease and high blood pressure.

For optimum health, Dr. Oz says that your waist measurement should be exactly one half of your height. As an example, if you are 5’2” tall, or 62 inches, your actual waist should not be more than 31 inches. The following is an example from Dr. Oz’s list of heights and appropriate waist measurements for avoiding health problems as you grow older.

5’2” 31″
5’5″ 32.5″
5’8″ 34″
5’11″ 35.5″
6’2″ 37″

In addition, Dr Oz says there are five numbers – lifesaving numbers you should be aware of. They are:

1) Weight
2) Waist Size
3) Blood Pressure
4) Cholesterol
5) Fasting Blood Sugar

All of these numbers are connected to your weight. Dr. Oz says that losing just 10 pounds will make a huge difference to your health by reducing your heart disease risk, diabetes and arthritis by 50 per cent. It’s not really that difficult to lose this small amount of weight. It can easily be done by simply by taking the following action steps:

2) High a fiber breakfast
2) Snacks smaller than the fist
3) No food within 3 hours of bedtime
4) Exercise 30 minutes a day

Other Dr Oz diet tips advice for 2012 includes drinking lots of water, tracking your weight weekly and keeping track of the circumference of your waist on a monthly basis. Also of note: very important is exercising. Your health will not improve without exercise and you cannot burn belly fat without exercise.
